Status of Pharma 4.0 Adoption : Industry 4.0/Pharma 4.0 technologies promises tremendous benefits to the manufacturing organizations but most of the times companies are finding it difficult to scale from ‘pilot’ project to ‘multi site’ and ‘multi use case’ scenario. Resources required to scale from ‘pilot’ increases significantly in terms of time, money and hence adoption is slow and also sometimes discouraging.
What are the challenges : One of the major reason for difficulty in scaling up is gap between ‘Generation/Owner’ of data and ‘Consumer’ of data. Manufacturing systems generates tremendous amount of data and is normally managed by OT(Operational Technology) team and is available in raw format, in high volue, sometimes inconsistent across systems and without any contextualization. Business team who wants to adopt Pharma 4.0 benefits, they know their use case and need quick information which is contextualized for their purpose and precise. In current systems it takes tremendous effort to contextualize the data and it varies from one use case to another.
Solution : To solve these challenges and address the need for data contextualization and standardization, a new category of software solutions is emerging that may be the key to helping companies adopt Industry 4.0. This category is known as DataOps, or more specifically as Industrial DataOps when the solution has been purpose-built for industrial data. In this session, we will try to understand that solution.
